Please arrive at 3:00pm for a 3:30pm ceremony start.
The Black is located on Collingwood Street in Albion, just off Sandgate Road. If you're coming from Brisbane's south side, it is accessible via the M3 and then the Clem-7 tunnel (beware: tolls). To avoid the toll roads you can also stick to the M3 all the way up to Little Cribb Street and then circle back via the Inner City Bypass. If you're coming from Brisbane's north side you should be able to avoid the tolls altogether.
For people wanting to indulge in a drink or two we strongly encourage using taxi services to get to and from the venue. As the venue is close to central Brisbane, there should be no problems with accessing enough rides to get us all home safe and sound. Collingwood Street is a busy spot so you might find it easier to be dropped off just around the corner in Fox Street.
The other option for guests would be train or bus; the nearest train station is Albion (about a 15-minute walk) and there are a number of bus stations along Sandgate and Abbotsford Roads.
Free parking is available at the venue and in the surrounding area! If you choose to come in your own car or carpool there are a few spots directly in front of the venue on Collingwood Street; on the day however, these may be already occupied by vendors or the bridal party.
The next best option for parking is in Fox Street, where there are some angled parks around the edges of the sports fields and an off-street parking lot. These tend to be more readily available than parks in Collingwood Street in our experience.
We'll be playing the final song at 11:00pm and then the venue needs to clear out by 11:30pm.
That might be way past your bedtime so feel free to leave beforehand; we expect all the formalities will be wrapped up by 8:30pm. We request that if we're having the time of our lives on the dancefloor, opt for an Irish goodbye and send us a message instead of pulling us out of the zone!
Both!
The ceremony is being held in the indoor space at The Black with cocktail hour and dinner to follow in their courtyard, then back indoors to dance the night away. The courtyard is protected from the weather by a canopy and some trees and also walled on all sides to reduce wind chill. However, we are getting married at the height of winter so we recommend you bring something to throw over your shoulders as the night gets cooler!
We request that guests wear semi-formal attire.
What does that mean? For us, we would love to see guests attending in button-up shirts and slacks (ties and blazers optional), dresses or skirts knee-length or longer, jumpsuits, or some combination of the three. It is preferred that guests please steer clear of denim and white or cream dresses.
Regarding footwear, we know that wearing uncomfortable shoes all night is a sure-fire way to have a bad time. Feel free to bring comfier flats to slip into once the dancing kicks off, we will have somewhere to stash them until the time is right. You're also welcome to go barefoot on the dancefloor, but please be advised that some of the venue is pebbled and this might not be the most pleasant to walk across with no shoes on.
We also kindly encourage (depending on your level of comfort and what you already have in your wardrobe) that guests dress with the following moody jewel-tone palette in mind:

Stuck for ideas? Panicked about making a decision? We (but really Em) have put together some collages of outfits to give you some inspiration. If you see something you like reach out to Em and she can give you the details on where it's from.
Options for people wearing dresses, skirts, or jumpsuits are here.
Options for people wearing suits are here.
We will be providing canape appetisers, banquet-style main meals, and dessert for all of our guests. If you have any dietary requirements please include these in your RSVP so we can tell our caterer.
The open bar will include beer and wine for the first part of the evening before becoming a bit more varied once dinner and dancing starts.
Your presence at our special day is the only thing we could ask for! However, if you do wish to celebrate with a gift, we have set up a honeymoon fund with XX and all contributions are greatly appreciated.
If you want to make a speech let either Em or Cam know and we'll see if we can fit you into the schedule.
ROBBINS!
Where does this come from?
Emily Rowland + Cameron Stubbins = Emily and Cameron Robbins
It was a tough competition between Robbins and Stubland but ultimately Robbins won out.
We would love to be able to include everyone (including your little ones) but venue capacity and budget mean we need to keep things to just whoever is specifically named on your invitation.
